What it protects

A method for producing a complete wind turbine blade in a single resin infusion, inside a closed, rigid, reusable mould set — and the blade that results from it.

Blade cross-section, Fig. 2 of EP 4 185 458 B1
Blade cross-section from the patent (Fig. 2): shell, shear webs and trailing-edge elements form one continuous structure.

One piece, no glue

Shell, shear webs and trailing-edge elements are infused together. There are no bonded joints anywhere in the blade.

Fibre wrapped 360°

Glass or carbon fibre runs continuously around the whole aerofoil section, with no cut or interrupted fibre in the closed sections.

Rigid inner moulds

The internal cavities are formed by stiff moulds, later extracted through the root. Thicknesses and internal corners come out exactly as designed, blade after blade.

No vacuum bag

The closed mould set replaces single-use consumables, cutting waste at every cycle.

Why it matters

Fewer process steps and no bonding mean shorter production times and lower cost, while the continuous structure delivers higher strength for the same weight — or the same strength with less weight.

International coverage

European patent granted. Applications also filed in China and Japan.
