Turbine down? We manufacture the blade you need — even if we didn't build it.
A single damaged blade is enough to stop the entire turbine. The machine is sound, the site is ready, but the rotor stands still and every day of downtime is energy you don't produce. The problem is rarely technical: it's time.
Anyone looking for a replacement blade runs into the same obstacles. The original manufacturer no longer exists, or has discontinued the model. The blade is out of production. Quoted lead times run into months. Or the request is simply turned down because the installation is considered too old to support.
The result is a perfectly functional machine held hostage by one component.
We don't just replicate the damaged blade — we engineer it, starting from how the machine actually operates: rotor diameter, rated power, operating speed, hub type and blade root connection.
This changes two things. First, we don't need the original: no manufacturer drawings, no intact blade to copy from. Second, a blade we design isn't tied to one turbine model. The same design can be scaled and adapted to a wide range of machines, including those from different manufacturers, as long as they fall within the same power and diameter class.
We currently cover turbines from 20 kW to 1 MW / with rotors from 6 to 40 metres.
A single turbine to bring back online. There's no need to start a new development programme. We take an existing blade type from our range and adapt it to your machine, working on length, root connection, pitch setting and balancing. It's the fastest and most cost-effective route — and in most cases the only one that makes sense, since it avoids the cost and lead time of a dedicated design for a single unit.
Multiple machines or a uniform fleet. Here we move into full design work: we develop a blade dimensioned around those specific turbines, optimising aerodynamics and yield across the whole fleet.
Either way, the starting point is the same: all we need is the data on your machine.
We reconstruct the geometry of the blade to be replaced, verify the aerofoil profile and structural behaviour, and manufacture a component that matches the mass and balance of the rotor. That last point is critical when replacing a single blade on a rotor already in service: any imbalance puts stress on the entire machine.
We supply either a single replacement blade or a complete set, whichever makes more sense for your installation. Because the profile is engineered from scratch, the new blade can deliver performance equal to or better than the original, depending on the application.
Send us the model, the rated power and a few photos of the damaged blade. We'll tell you quickly whether we can help, how, and on what lead time.
